Mozart: Die Zauberflöte (Salzburg 2018) [Blu-ray]Blu-raySelten wurde Mozarts ' Die Zauberflöte' bunter und ideenreicher umgesetzt als 2018 bei den Salzburger Festspielen durch Lydia Steier. Mit u. a. Matthias Goerne, Albina Shagimurotava und Christiane Karg großartig besetzt, ließ sich Steier zusätzlich noch ein besonderes Schmankerl einfallen und kreierte für niemand Geringeren als Klaus Maria Brandauer eine Rolle als Erzähler, der das undurchsichtige und janusköpfige Libretto der Oper während der laufenden Vorstellung einordnet und launig kommentiert. Durchaus kontrovers diskutiert war diese Inszenierung eine der am meisten beachteten neuen Opernproduktionen im vergangenen Jahr und eines der Highlights der Salzburger Festspiele. Müßig zu erwähnen, dass es sich bei Steiers Fassung um eine Asstattungsorgie par excellence handelt, bei der allein schon der Reichtum der Bühnenbilder und Kostüme die Veröffentlichung auf dem audiovisuellen Medium rechtfertigt. Den ausgezeichneten Wiener Philharmonikern stand an diesem Abend mit Constantinos Carydis ein Fachmann für die Oper des 18. Jahrhunderts zur Verfügung, der das Wiener Traditionsorchester so frisch und spritzig aufspielen ließ wie ein Spezialensemble für historische Aufführungspraxis. |

Die Zauberflöte [Blu-ray]Blu-rayKaum vorher und seither nicht wieder ist eine Aufführung von Mozarts Zauberflöte mit derart einhelliger Zustimmung aufgenommen worden wie diese bei den Salzburger Festspielen. Ende Juli 1978 wurde die Premiere mit nicht enden wollendem Applaus und enthusiastischem internationalem Kritikerlob gefeiert. Der Theaterzauberer Jean-Pierre Ponelle (1932-1988) hatte eine Inszenierung geschaffen, die neun Jahre im Programm blieb und stets aufs Neue wegen ihrer Frische, ihrer Originalität und ihrer Überzeugungskraft bejubelt wurde. Sie war zugleich Mysterienspiel und volkstümliche Theatermaschinerie-Komödie, "unmittelbar und tiefgründig", "eine ideale Zauberflöte mit viel Gefühl" wie die Süddeutsche schrieb. Dieses Gesamtkunstwerk von Musik, Bühnentechnik, Szenerie, Kostümen und Regie wurde 1982 aufgezeichnet. Die Besetzung war perfekt: der zu früh verstorbene finnische Bass Martti Talvela (1935-1989) in seiner Paraderolle als Sarastro, die unvergleichliche Edita Gruberova als "die beste Königin der Nacht " ( Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung), der legendäre Tamino Peter Schreier und die zierliche, lyrisch erklingende Ileana Cotrubas als Pamina. Am stärksten identifiziert mit dieser Produktion wurde jedoch Christian Boesch, für den Papageno die wichtigste Rolle seines Lebens war und der die immens erfolgreiche Zauberflöte für Kinder konzipiert hat. Am Pult der Wiener Philharmoniker stand damals kein geringerer als James Levine. |
