Blekingegadebandens historie handler om meget mere end et millionrøveri mod et postkontor i Købmagergade og drabet på en ung politibetjent i 1988. Historien begynder sidst i 1960'erne, da kommunisterne Gotfred Appel og Ulla Hauton samler en gruppe oprørske unge mennesker under sig og sender dem til Jordan i militær træningslejr hos Folkefronten til Palæstinas Befrielse, P F L P.

Under dæknavnet Æblerne fungerer Appels gruppe allerede fra først i halvfjerdserne som en illegal celle, der skaffer våben og penge til palæstinenserne ved en stribe danmarkshistorisk store kup, som politiet aldrig har kunnet opklare.

Den danske celle indgår i et internationalt netværk, der også tæller Baader-Meinhof-gruppen, De Røde Brigader og Carlos Sjakalen. Cellens centrale medlem er Appels højre hånd, den karismatiske og kvindeombejlede brandmand Holger Jensen, som gennem ti år kommer til at stå i spidsen for gruppens kriminelle og internationale aktiviteter.

Peter Øvig Knudsen har haft adgang til fortrolige arkiver hos politi og efterretningstjeneste og talt med en lang række af de involverede personer. På den baggrund fortæller han den dokumentariske historie om Blekingegadebanden. Dette er det første bind af to.

Nineteen-year-old Burmah Adams, a hairdresser and former Santa Ana High School student, spent her honeymoon on a crime spree. Blond Rattlesnake reveals the events that brought Adams and White together and details the crime spree they committed in the sweltering hot days and nights of Los Angeles in the height of the Great Depression.
