SONY, SK60691, 13 Track Fans der Filmmusik von Titanic werden ganz sicher dieses Folgealbum begrüßen, eine Sammlung von Originalmusik und Hintergrundmelodien, die auf der ersten Schallplatte nicht zu finden war. Sie werden nicht enttäuscht sein. Die neu komponierten Stücke "Titanic Suite" und "Epilogue: The Deep and Timeless Sea" sind wie Mosaiksteine von James Horners eindringlichsten Themen aus dem Film. Trotz einiger holpriger Übergänge in "Suite"(in der Melodien von depressiver zu pathetischer Stimmung wechseln)kommen die Kompositionen, die vom "London Symphony Orchestra" und von den "Choirsters of King's College"(Cambridge)gespielt werden, gut an. Sie finden hier eine große Vielfalt wie zum Beispiel das lebendige "An Irish Party in Third Class" von Gaelic Storm und das Ensemble für Kammermusik I Salonisti mit "Alexander's Ragtime Band" und "Nearer My God to Thee". Es gibt nur wenige Fehlgriffe: Maire Brennans langatmiges Stück "Come Josephine, in My Flying Machine" ist schwerfällig und der Filmdialog, der einige Songs durchaus in ihrer Wirkung steigert(hierzu gehört auch Celine Dions "My Heart Will Go On") ist hier eher störend als wirkungsvoll. -Jason Verlinde
